In 2005, introduced by Matchroom Sports as the strongest competition in world darts, the premier league is a travelling darts circus all around Great Britain and Europe. 
 
The World’s top four is automatically qualified for the Premier League. In addition, four places are wildcards. The final list is ususally announced on the day of the World Championship final.

The fourteenth edition of the PDC World Masters will be held in Milton Keynes from January 30th to February 2nd. Only the top 24 players in the world will receive direct access to this exclusive tournament held at the Marshall Arena. Winmau will become the new sponsor in 2025 and has renamed the tournament to Winmau World Masters. A name that carries a lot of tradition as Winmau has been the main sponsor for this tournament for more than forty years in the days of the BDO and the WDF. From this year onwards, in addition to the top 24 players in the world, up to 180 players will also have a shot at the remaining eight spots in the main tournament. These players include all tour card holders and the best players from the PDC regional tours, including the Challenge and Development Tour. Starting 2025, the tournament will also count towards the world rankings.
